Coronado is a city located in San Diego County, California. It is nicknamed The Crown City. It is also nicknamed The
Tent City, referring to tourists' tents that once lined Coronado Beach during the summer-vacation season. It is home
to the famous Hotel del Coronado, built in 1888 and long considered one of the world's top resorts. It is listed as
a National Historic Landmark.
Downtown Coronado boasts unique shops and many restaurants serving residents and visitors. Three destination resorts
and many small hotels offer a variety of accommodations. And our award-winning beach, recently ranked second best
in the country by the Travel Channel, is a special jewel.
